A Day In The Country Vintage Market

Just as the summer months come to an end yet another year of A Day In The Country Market has come and gone. This year marked the fourth year of the market and my second year of attending. As I agreed with another vendor, the shows just keeps getting better and better.
This show is so close to my heart because last year at this time, Shanty Scrolls was just beginning. I remember bringing a total of 9 scrolls with me last year to test the market. This year.. so many more scrolls and new designs. What a great way to celebrate 1 year of Shanty Scrolls!
The vision for this years displays were all dreamt around the Grateful Hearts scroll. I wanted the displays to be simple yet something that reflected the seasons changing. I used a dried pear tree branch as the anchor of the front table display. Taylor, my husband, wired on some fresh pears for pops of color and interest!

For the Christmas display, I used the new 'Twas Scroll for the statement wall piece. I absolutely adore this new Christmas scroll as I feel it brings such holiday charm with the poem lyrics. Also new to the holiday collection: the mini Silent Night scroll. I love how different this scroll is compared to the rest. I really wanted to bring the old time Christmas feel to the holiday collection this year.

This show did not disappoint and I was able to meet so many of you! We had fantastic fall weather all weekend and there were so many smiling faces. A Day In The Country was the perfect way to bring in the new fall season. A special thank you to Bessie, Deb and all the fabulous people that made the show run so smoothly!
Hugs, Alyssa
