Spare Bathroom Tile Install + Inspiration

Is there anything more exciting than tile being installed?! Nah! I'm so excited to see this tile in the spare bathroom go up because of its beautiful marble and diamond pearl design AND clearanced price point (only $9 a sq. ft.). The best part is this tile is going on the WALL behind the clawfoot tub... gasp!

For this spare bathroom, we have an old antique door as a pocket door, laminate flooring (talked about here) and polished chrome hardware. I wanted this bathroom to differ from the master so I went against my normal design tendencies and picked chrome accents (to mix with the antique brass accent, of course). The clawfoot tub will be the anchor to the room and stunning antique chandelier will hang above the tub. With an old dresser turned vanity, we have plenty of "old" to mix with the new!

I started installing the window trim a few weeks ago and we decided to go with a thicker bottom shelf and simple decorative casings. Once I had the trim installed, I could start on the tiling. I used Type 1 tile adhesive and went to work! In a few hours time, I was able to get majority of the bottom half wall done.

I love how classic and sophisticated the tile feels and I think it will be super dramatic when the tile scours the entire wall- floor to ceiling. We have yet to decide on the shower tile but I'm thinking a simple subway tile with some sort of design to it to set the old world feel.

Are you ready to see the spare bath mood/inspiration board? Drumroll, please.... ta-da! Sources are linked below. In the meantime, can you see the whole wall finished out?! I can hardly wait!

Hugs, Alyssa
